Bapak Hari is YPK lead carpenter and works on the various infrastructure work such as building the permaculture training room, nursery, fencing building on both the Sukamulya demonstration site and the BCU school kitchen garden/aquaponics program.
He is indigenous dayak so also knows the land, forest and indigenous knowledge of central Kalimantan. In his part time he loves to make handmade indigenous toys when taking a break from the normal day to day work (see picture below). He also surprised us recently when he unveiled his hidden talent with the Dayak martial art ritual ‘Lawang Sekepeng’ which is an important welcome to country ceremony to welcome guests to the land of Central Kalimantan.
